Mission Statement

The Elkins Parks and Recreation Commission (EPRC) was established in 1974 by the Elkins City Council to promote and expand leisure services for the citizens of Elkins.  The EPRC has five parks located throughout the city of Elkins.

Our mission statement is to promote a complete recreational program for all citizens of the city of Elkins, equally for both sexes, and for members of all age groups and for those people with handicaps or disadvantages; to promote interest in parks and recreation while cooperating with all agencies; both public and private; to work in harmony with the standards of the state and national recreation association; and to respect the desires and guidelines of the controlling City Council and the citizens of Elkins.
